The Effectivesness of Storytelling to Teach Speaking Skill: An Experimental Study at Ninth Grade Students of SMPN 11 Mataram Academic Year 2022/2023

The study investigated the effectiveness of storytelling as a teaching technique for speaking skills among ninth-grade students at SMPN 11 Mataram. research method employed pre-experimental design, specifically group pretest and post-test design. target population consisted Mataram, with sample size 28 from class IX C. Data were collected through three stages: pretest, treatment, post-test. served baseline measurement, mean score 70.57. treatment phase involved implementing technique, finally, was conducted to assess students' after treatment. higher 82.28, indicating 16% improvement compared pretest. A paired t-test in this study. value t-Table difference between means. In case, than value, leading acceptance alternative hypothesis (Ha) rejection null (Ho). This implies that effective skill Mataram academic year 2022/2023. results showed significant implementation technique.
